Pay TV operator TrueVisions has sought permission from the telecom regulator to cancel 11 more channels after it has last month stopped airing six channels, mainly popular movie channels. Ms Supinya, who chaired a meeting of the NBTC’s consumer protection subcommittee, said TrueVisions had proposed a relief plan for the cancellation of 11 channels on Tuesday. She asked TrueVisions subscribers to inform the regulator whether they could still view the 11 mentioned channels or not, as the NBTC has not yet approved such cancellation. On Jan 1, TrueVisions stopped broadcasting Cinemax, HBO, HBO Hits HD, HBO Signature, HBO Family and Red by HBO. A group of over 1,000 subscribers is planning to jointly sue TrueVisions in the Civil Court, seeking compensation for unfair treatment in the cancellation of HBO channels.
